  1. Grapes

Not only are grapes a good source of vitamins A and C, but you'll also find vitamin B6 and folate in these fruits of the vine. And that's not all. Minerals like potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, and selenium, as well as trace amounts of copper, manganese, and zinc are also present in grapes. What's more, you'll also get some fiber and protein from grapes. Flavonoids have been referred to as "nature's biological response modifiers" because of strong experimental evidence of their inherent ability to modify the body's reaction to allergens, viruses, and carcinogens.  They show anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbrial and anti-cancer activity. Interestingly, it isn't the flavonoids themselves that seem to be causing the health benefits, as they are actually very poorly absorbed.  Recent studies are showing that the human body sees flavonoids as foreign substances and gears up to eliminate them.  It is the ensuing increase in uric acid levels and the enzyme response that may be eliminating mutagens and carcinogens in the process.

Grapes are also high in a compound known as resveratrol.  Resvertrol is being heralded as the new "fountain of youth".  It is a natural anti-oxidant that has been linked to reduced risk of cancer, atherosclerosis, heart disease, and brain diseases such as Alzheimer's.  Research seems to indicate that resveratrol influences the genes that control aging by activating enzymes that slow the aging process.

    Possible Health Benefits of Grapes:
    • Anti-inflammatory
    • Anti-oxidant
    • Anti-carcinogen
    • Helps reduce insulin resistance to decrease the risk of heart disease, obesity and diabetes

  2. Noni (Morinda Citrofolia)

Research shows that all parts of the Morinda citrifolia plant roots, seeds, flowers, leaves, and fruit may have a variety of positive health implications.  Noni juice may increase mental clarity and attention span, as well as allow greater physical performance levels. It also seems to benefit the body's immune system as it supports the natural ability to fight disease and infection.

Possible Health Benefits of Noni Juice:
    • Increases energy levels
    • High anti-oxidant properties
    • Assists the circulatory system
    • Aids digestion and nutrient absorption
    • Beneficial for skin and hair

  3. Trace Minerals

Minerals are absolutely necessary for life!  Together with vitamins, they help to control all of our metabolic processes. Enzymes speed up chemical reactions in our bodies, and co-enzymes assist them in their life-sustaining functions. Minerals are essential components in these enzymatic reactions and thus share a critical responsibility for the correct functioning of your body.

The issue of getting enough trace minerals in our diet should not be taken lightly. Traditionally, eating fresh grains, fruits, and vegetables grown in nutrient-rich soil, drinking mineral rich water, and including naturally occurring forms of raw salt in the diet have provided the full spectrum of ionically-charged trace minerals necessary for life.

Unfortunately, naturally occurring, nutrient-rich soil is almost non-existent on commercial farms and bottled water is mostly devoid of trace minerals. Key trace minerals now missing from the modern diet include copper, tin, silver, gold, and lithium. The entire burden has shifted to naturally occurring salt and/or trace mineral supplements. In a sense, they can be related to the numerous nails, nuts and bolts that hold a house together.  At first glance, a home is made of much more than these items.  However, if they are slowly removed and never replaced, the house will continue to sag and finally fall apart.  Maximizing our intake of the 72 Trace Minerals in FrequenSea will benefit the body in many ways, because, unless we begin replacing these minerals early on in life, we put ourselves at risk for the many diseases of mineral deficiency that are becoming more and more prevalent in our society today.

Possible Health Benefits of Trace Minerals:
    • Anti-inflammatory
    • Anti-oxidant
    • Necessary for nerve conduction, muscle function and all enzyme systems

  4. Ginger

A perennial herb native to China and India, ginger root has been used for centuries in Asian cooking and medications. Ancient peoples used ginger root to cure everything from menstrual cramps to seasickness to food poisoning to body odor. The roots of the plant, called rhizomes, are where the benefits of ginger root lie.

Possible Health Benefits of Ginger Root:
    • Aids in digestion, helps break down proteins, promotes flow of bile
    • Alleviates high blood pressure
    • Improves circulation
    • Treats nausea and motion sickness

    • Supports healthy cardiovascular system
    • Anti-inflammatory, helps relieve arthritis
    • Great as a decongestant

  5. Nutmeg

Nutmeg (myristica fragrans) is a native spice from the Moluccas Islands in the South Pacific. The tree can grow to 66 feet tall and produce a peach shaped fruit known as the nutmeg apple, which is discarded in favor of the aromatic seed inside. When ripe, the fruit splits to expose a pecan sized nut wrapped in a bright red netting called an aril. The nut and aril are separated and dried. The nut is nutmeg, and the aril yields the spice, mace.

Nutmeg has a variety of health benefits.  It is high in anti-oxidant properties, and is particularly useful when used for healing of the digestive system.  It calms and helps lower blood pressure. Nutmeg also provides fast relief for diarrhea and toothaches. The therapeutic effects of nutmeg stimulates the cardiovascular system, promotes concentration, acts as an expectorant, reduces joint inflammation and helps also with liver removing toxins.

    Possible health benefits of nutmeg:
    • Insomnia - may produce drowsiness
    • May reduce anxiety
    • Useful in calming muscle spasms
    • Beneficial for nausea and vomiting
    • Assists in digestion

    • Increases circulation
    • Helps to lower cholesterol
    • Great for toothaches (nutmeg oil)
    • ** Please note that taking too much nutmeg (one to three nuts or less) can cause side effects such as nausea, hallucinations, swelling and shock.

  6. Rosemary

Although rosemary is native to the Mediterranean, it now grows throughout much of the temperate regions in Europe and America. Rosemary has been a prized seasoning and natural medicine for millennia. Part of rosemary's popularity came from the widespread belief that rosemary stimulated and strengthened the memory, a quality for which it is still traditionally used.

Rosemary is a circulatory and nervine stimulant. Rosemary stimulates the flow of digestive juices. The tannins and essential oil act as diuretics. Rosemary has been also found to be a stimulant and mild analgesic. Traditionally, rosemary has been used by herbalists to relieve muscle pain and spasm, stimulate hair growth, and support the circulatory and nervous systems. Rosemary may affect the menstrual cycle, relieve menstrual cramps, increase urine flow, and reduce kidney pain. Rosemary helps to reduce inflammation and has antioxidant properties. Rosemary is a stimulant and mild analgesic, and has been used to treat headaches, epilepsy, poor circulation, and many ailments for which stimulants are prescribed. It also helps to relax muscles, including the smooth muscles of the digestive tract and uterus. Externally it may be used to ease muscular pain, sciatica and neuralgia. It acts as a stimulant to both the hair follicles and circulation in the scalp and thus may be helpful in premature baldness and alopecia.

    Possible health benefits of Rosemary:
    • Helps to stimulate the flow of digestive juices
    • Helps to relieve muscle pain and spasm
    • Stimulates hair growth
    • Supports the circulatory and nervous systems
    • Acts as a diuretic
    • Anti-inflammatory
    • Anti-oxidant

  7. Astaxanthin

Astaxanthin belongs to a group of pigments (colouring agents) called carotenoids. It is the principal pigment that gives salmonids their pink colour.  Astaxanthin performs all three of the key antioxidant tasks including quenching, scavenging, and trapping free radicals, and enhances the activity of other antioxidant nutrients. It provides a greater protection of the cellular membranes than beta carotene, vitamin C and vitamin E.. It also neutralizes free radicals as it traps them inside its structure. Astaxanthin traps more kinds of free radicals, including singlet and triplet oxygen. Its antioxidant activity is far higher than vitamin E and beta-carotene.  Astaxanthin is a strong antioxidant that appears to enhance the immune system and protect against cancer. It also may protect against UVA light, a wavelength of ultraviolet light that can cause sunburn and skin cancer. It is reported to stabilize free radicals by adding them to its long double-bonded chain, rather than sacrificing an atom or electron, and it is absorbed by the mucosa in the small intestine and transported to the liver where it binds with a lipoprotein and is efficiently transported throughout the body.

Research shows that due to astaxanthin's potent antioxidant activity, it may be beneficial in cardiovascular, immune, inflammatory and neurodegenerative diseases.   Research supports the assumption that it protects body tissues from oxidative damage. It also crosses the blood-brain barrier, which makes it available to the eye, brain and central nervous system to alleviate oxidative stress that contributes to ocular, and neuro-degenerative diseases such as glaucoma and Alzheimer's Disease.

    Possible health benefits of Astaxanthin:
    • Powerful antioxidant
    • Prevents lipid peroxidation
    • Reduces oxidative damage
    • Improves memory in vascular dementia

  8. Selenium (Ionic Sea Mineral Blend)

When first discovered in 1817, selenium was considered a poison. In the 1950s it was recognized as an essential trace mineral. And now it has become a superstar among nutrients.  Selenium is an essential element required by our body in small amounts. It is naturally found in plants, seafood, meat and meat products. Nutritionally speaking, selenium is a micronutrient with macro health benefits.

Selenium is an active component of glutathione peroxidase, an enzyme that catalyzes the breakdown of hydroperoxides.  Selenium can also help against the toxicity from mercury, cadmium and silver. Some studies suggest that selenium may reduce the incidence of cancer and cataracts. It also functions in thyroid hormone metabolism.  It neutralizes the injurious effects of free radicals. Excessive accumulation of free radical (which are by-products of metabolism) are injurious to the body, promoting premature diseases.

    Possible health benefits of Selenium:
    • Anti-oxidant
    • Component of several essential enzymes
    • May delay or prevent the onset of cancer
    • May have anti-aging effect
    • Needed for proper thyroid function
    • Promotes immune system function

  9. Citrus Fruits (Oranges, Sweet Limes & Citric Acid)

Citrus fruits have long been valued as part of a nutritious and tasty diet. The flavours provided by citrus are among the most preferred in the world, and it is increasingly evident that citrus not only tastes good, but is also good for people. It is well established that citrus and citrus products are a rich source of vitamins, minerals and dietary fibre (non-starch polysaccharides) that are essential for normal growth and development and overall nutritional well-being. However, it is now beginning to be appreciated that these and other biologically active, non-nutrient compounds found in citrus and other plants (phytochemicals) can also help to reduce the risk of many chronic diseases.

Citrus is most commonly thought of as a good source of vitamin C. However, like most other whole foods, citrus fruits also contain an impressive list of other essential nutrients, including both glycaemic and non-glycemic carbohydrate (sugars and fibre), potassium, folate, calcium, thiamin, niacin, vitamin B6, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, riboflavin, pantothenic acid and a variety of phytochemicals. In addition, citrus contains no fat or sodium and, being a plant food, no cholesterol.

Possible health benefits of Citrus Fruits:
    • High in antioxidants
    • Rich source of vitamins, minerals & dietary fiber
    • Good source of dietary calcium

  10. Rose

Rose has the highest frequency (320 Hertz) of all the plants on the planet. This in itself is an important factor. It means that the fragrant molecules of the rose are able to quickly penetrate and travel the infinitesimal pathways of the body, rapidly energizing every cell, bringing balance and harmony to the body. For this reason, rose may help with chronic sexual disabilities like frigidity, impotence and sluggish libido. It is stimulating and elevating to the mind, creating a sense of well being.

Rose seems to provide the best of all things.  It is a great aphrodisiac and thus perfect to add spice to your love life. It is also known for its antispasmodic, antiviral and antiseptic therapeutic properties. Rose is very beneficial in curing eczema, stress, and menstrual problems. It serves like a tonic for the liver, heart, stomach and uterus. For coping with emotional problems, rose is the best remedy. It is of great use in boosting the circulation of blood in the body.

    Possible health benefits of Rose:
    • Helps improve skin conditions
    • Beneficial for menstrual problems
    • Tonic for liver, heart, stomach & uterus
    • Helps improve mood disorders

    • Has anti-viral, anti-spasmodic and anti-septic properties

  11. Magnesium (Ionic Sea Mineral Blend)

Magnesium is an essential element which influences many enzymes needed to produce cellular energy and nerve and muscle message transmission. It affects nervous, muscular and cardiovascular systems. Magnesium is the fourth most abundant mineral in the body and is essential to good health. In humans, it is found in bones, teeth, and red blood cells.  Magnesium activates many enzyme systems, such as those involved in protein digestion and energy production. The body takes in magnesium from the diet and excretes it in the urine and stool. Magnesium in its carbonate and sulfate forms has been used for centuries as a laxative. It is intimately interlocked, biologically with calcium.

Magnesium is an essential mineral for the human body. Magnesium is used by the body to help maintain muscles, nerves, teeth and bones. It is also used in energy metabolism and protein synthesis. Magnesium is essential in the bio-synthesis of collagen as it helps produce proteins that are later transformed into collagen. Magnesium influences many enzymes needed to produce cellular energy and nerve and muscle message transmission. It affects nervous, muscular and cardiovascular systems. Magnesium assists in the absorption and metabolism of calcium, sodium, phosphorous and potassium.  It activates enzymes, contributes to energy production, and helps regulate calcium levels as well as copper, zinc, potassium, vitamin D, and other important nutrients in the body. Magnesium is necessary for normal cell metabolism as it plays a key role in ATP production. It is required by the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) synthesizing protein in mitochondria. Magnesium also helps regulate blood sugar levels, promotes normal blood pressure.

Magnesium is particularly important for maintaining a normal heart rhythm and is often used by physicians to treat irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia). Magnesium may be beneficial for bladder problems in women, especially common disturbances in bladder control and the sense of "urgency." Adequate intake of calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D coupled with overall proper nutrition and weight-bearing exercise throughout childhood and adulthood are the primary preventive measures for osteoporosis. Magnesium sulfate is widely used to prevent eclamptic seizures in pregnant women with hypertension.

    Possible health benefits of Magnesium:
    • Essential for normal heart function
    • Helps build and maintain strong bones, teeth, muscles, and nerves
    • Relives symptoms of menopause and premenstrual syndrome
    • Can help prevent migraines and fatigue
    • Essential for energy production

  12. Boron (Ionic Sea Mineral Blend)

Boron is an important trace mineral that has largely been ignored for health maintenance and freedom from disease. This is unfortunate, as it is extremely important and as a health supplement, can have profoundly beneficial effects.  Boron enhances the body's ability to absorb calcium and magnesium, thereby increasing bone strength. It may also promote beneficial levels of estrogen and testosterone in healthy post-menopausal women and help convert vitamin D to its active form, supporting the absorption of calcium.

Dietary boron influences the activity of many metabolic enzymes, as well as the metabolism of  steroid hormones and several micronutrients, including calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D. It may also play a role in improving arthritis, plasma lipid profiles, and brain function requirement for humans.

    Possible health benefits of Boron:
    • Beneficial for arthritis
    • Enhances bone, brain & muscle function
    • May slow down the aging process
    • Effective for menopausal symptoms
    • Helps improve allergic symptoms
    • May be useful in treatment of parasites

  13. Blueberries

Blueberries are receiving international attention for their health benefits. Research in Canada and the USA supports evidence that blueberries are powerful disease fighters. Blueberries have been ranked number one in antioxidant activity over 40 other tested fruits and vegetables. Antioxidants help neutralize harmful by-products called "free radicals" which are unstable molecules that are linked to a number of age-related diseases.

    Possible health benefits of Blueberries:
    • Clearing of arteries
    • High in antioxidants
    • Helps strengthen blood vessels
    • Enhances memory
    • Effective for urinary tract infections

  14. Polysaccharides

There are many types of bioactive polysaccharides which differ in their properties, health benefits and degrees of activity. The right sugars are vital for the correct glycolization of proteins involved in cell communication.  Polysaccarides are necessary to prevent cell inflammation and oxidation.  These vital nutrients are displaced by the consumption of refined sugars, thereby causing insulin resistance, diabetes and heart disease.

    Possible health benefits of Polysaccharides:
    • May inhibit tumor growth
    • Shown to reduce risk of DNA damage
    • Helps to neutralize the side effects of chemotherapy/radiation
    • Helps to normalize blood pressure

    • Helps to balance immune function
    • Lowers cholesterol and blood lipids
    • Shown to increase calcium absorption

  15. Marine Phytoplankton, MPP

Marine Phytoplankton (MPP) is at the very bottom of the Earth's food chain, since it is the most efficient way to store solar energy.  We know, based on Scientific Research, know that the surfaces of the sea are full of microscopic, single-cell, drifting plants which convert energy from the sun and the elements extracted from the water into precious substances necessary for life.  The largest contributor to the food web come from the coastal waters of British Columbia, Canada, an area that the National Geographic Magazine has highlighted as one of the richest food growing areas in all of the world.  The sea farm that has managed to fulfill Jacque Cousteau's prediction that "the future of life is in the oceans" is silencing skeptics that said that the industry would only produce toxic seafood, while damaging the environment.  Thanks to the discovery by the BC Sea Farm, the most nutritionally-dense food on Earth is now available to people.  Everything in the ocean, including whales, depend on algae to support their life.  Now you can enjoy the benefits of the marine phytoplankton, too!

One characteristic that all marine phytoplankton have in common is that they convert nutrients and CO2 into carbohydrates by using solar energy.

Sometimes referred to as "Mother Earth's Milk" phytoplankton is now available for all mankind to benefit from in a natural marine phytoplankton formulation.  It is well known that the food chain begins with plant species in the aqua environment with phytoplankton at the forefront.  Phytoplankton, microscopic marine plants, are essentially photosynthetic organisms that synthesize organic substances from an external energy source.  These microscopic sea plants are super concentrated in a green pigment called chlorophyll.  Photosynthesis, the process of converting simple inorganic chemicals into complex organic substances, is a critical part of energy production and recycling.  The end result of photosynthesis is the production of energy nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, from sunlight, carbon dioxide and water.  Energy nutrients are critical to human health.

Possible Health Benefits of Marine Phytoplankton:
    • Enhances the immune system
    • May inhibit the growth of cancer cells
    • Supplies a complete source of vitamins, minerals, amino acids & fatty acids

  16. Omega Oils

Never has the statement "we are what we eat" been more true.  Actually, it should be changed to "we are what we absorb", but that's a different matter.  Our cell membranes are mostly composed of phospholipids, or fats.  The function of cell membranes throughout our bodies is critical for our well-being.  Most people consume too many toxic fats, such as trans and/or hydrogenated fats, and not enough healthy fats, also knows as Essential Fatty Acids or EFOs like those found in plankton.  The result is that the unhealthy fats are utilized in the structure of the cells and the cells loose their ability to perform their job.  It is critical to the health to ensure an adequate supply of EFOs on a daily basis.

Possible Health Benefits of Omega Oils:
    • Anti-inflammatory
    • Helps prevent cardiovascular disease
    • May help resolve neurological and psychiatric issues
    • Enhances the immune system

  17. Frankincense

Frankincense, well-known from history as one of the gifts brought by the 3 wise men to the Baby Jesus, had more value than gold.  The Frankincense tree, or Olibanum, upon first glance, may seem rather unremarkable. It appears as a giant shrub, with many knurled branches topped with abundant slender leaves and occasionally, small white flowers. A native to northern Africa, it looks like it belongs in the desert, growing in some of the world's harshest conditions. But it is not the tree itself, but rather its sap that has such profound lore surrounding it Frankincense resin is thought to have a bounty of health properties - it was an ingredient in a rejuvenate face mask in ancient Egypt (it was also charred and used as the classic heavy eyeliner seen in much ancient Egyptian art), and at one time was "used to treat every conceivable ill to man".

Modern science has isolated the active compounds found to have anti-arthritic properties. Called boswellic acids, these components inhibit the inflammatory process, improve blood supply and prevent further cartilage reduction.

If you value your health, then there is little doubt that it actually is more valuable than gold, as it is a safe and natural anti-inflammatory product.

    • Possible Health Benefits of Frankincense:
    • Enhances the immune system
    • Acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory
    • Active compounds have anti-arthritic properties
    • Exceptional anti-oxidant properties

  18. Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is high in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory micronutrients.  It is known to have as many as 75 health-supporting nutrients.  One of the more common uses is as a remedy for burns and wounds.

Although the benefits of Aloe Vera are very useful for skin disorders, the juice is used in cases of people suffering from heartburn, ulcers and other digestive disorders. People suffering from indigestion or irritable bowel syndrome have claimed that the juice of Aloe Vera does provide comfort. It is sometimes used as a laxative. This juice acts as an anti inflammatory agent and in some cases is known to reduce the amount of stomach juices that are secreted. Studies and clinical trials that have been conducted have shown that Aloe Vera does have an impact on digestive system disorders.

The benefits of Aloe Vera extend even to stimulating production of collagen and elastin both of which are necessary to prevent aging of the skin. As a moisturizer, Aloe Vera is very popular as it removes dead cells and also aids in the penetration of healthy substances. It reduces the intensity of pigmentation and lightens dark spots on the face. The cosmetic industry is exploring its potential and the world may soon see a mini revolution.

Muscle pain and pain in the joints occurring because of arthritis seem to be alleviated by the application of Aloe Vera gels or sprays. In fact if it is used regularly, it may actually help regress arthritis. The gel of Aloe Vera is said to have a beneficial effect in the decrease of total cholesterol, triglycerides and blood fat lipid levels. As these are major factors, which cause coronary heart disease, it is worth exploring its full potential. The extract of Aloe Vera is known to steady even blood sugar levels.

The full power and health benefits of Aloe Vera have yet to be tapped. It contains amino acids, vital minerals like calcium, magnesium and sodium in sufficient quantities, enzymes, vitamins, polysaccharides, nitrogen and other components which appear to make it a miracle substance.

Possible Health Benefits of Aloe Vera:
    • Anti-inflammatory
    • Antioxidant
    • Antibacterial
    • Helps wounds heal more quickly
    • Resolves mucosal issues in cells lining the intestines, stomach & sinus
    • Aids in digestion
    • Beneficial for the skin - may help with the production of collagen and elastin

  19. Cranberries

Cranberries are relatively small, red berries which grows on low-hanging vines in temperate zones in many regions of the United States and other parts of the world. The cranberry is a member of the same family of plants as bilberry and blueberry. It can be taken as a juice, the whole berry, or from an extract. For maximum health benefit, cranberry juice should be unsweetened.

The active ingredients in cranberry include chemical compounds called proanthocyanidins. Proanthocyanidins are potent antioxidants that appear to be able to decrease bacterial adherence to the bladder epithelium cells. The main benefit of this action is that bacteria have less likelihood of grouping together to cause bladder infection, urinary track infections and other related conditions.

    Possible Health Benefits of Cranberries:
    • Shown to decrease urinary tract infections
    • Useful in the reduction of dental plaque
    • May have anti-carcinogenic activity
    • Useful in the prevention of heart disease as it inhibits low density lipoprotein oxidation
    • May help to prevent the development of kidney stones, due to the abundance of quinic acid
    • High in anti-oxidant properties
